I just mailed Volume XI of our Anthology to our Board of Trustees. I wanted to make certain you received an early edition as your hard work is recognized in the Urban Health Imitative chapter authored by Paul Jellinek.

In retrospect, the mission of the program was Homeric. You met the challenges. I hope you know that it stands as a model to the value of working across lines and what is possible when all interested parties are brought to the table. Besides furthering the intent of the initiative, your office designed innovative and instructive ways to keep the sites focused. The "denominator exercise" has been applied to more than the UHI projects and it is a valuable tool. We use that phrase at the Foundation to keep expectations and aspirations on target.

At our September Trustee Site Visit to Oakland, UHI was presented and the director there has crafted an Educational Empowerment Program that uses a contract to bind all the important players into one unit. I hope you are as proud of the accomplishments of UHI, as we are.
